Mastercard SecureCode
What is Mastercard SecureCode?
Mastercard SecureCode is a security step added to some online purchases made with a Mastercard.

When a shopper places an order, their bank might ask for a special passcode to make sure the purchase is being made by the actual cardholder. This added check can happen when the transaction seems unusual or higher risk than normal.
The passcode is often sent by text message or email and is known only to the cardholder and their bank. This process helps stop someone else from using the card without permission. The feature works behind the scenes and only appears when needed, so it doesn’t slow things down for typical orders.
For business owners, Mastercard SecureCode helps reduce fraud and chargebacks, especially in online sales where the card isn’t physically present.
